# Applicant tracking (ATS) teardown: coder notes (collected September 26, 2026)

Published exactly as the codebook v1.5 rules coded it. Known disagreements between the rules and a human reader are listed here, not corrected in mentions.csv.

## Dictionary

- Greenhouse carries two domains, greenhouse.com (current) and greenhouse.io (its earlier domain, still used for job boards). Without the second, 5 citations to Greenhouse's own pages would have been classed as third-party. The coder was extended on September 26, 2026 to accept several ";"-separated domains per brand; re-coding the CRM and HR teardowns with the extended coder reproduced their published files byte for byte.
- Case-sensitive aliases (capitalized form only): Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Ashby, Breezy, Pinpoint, Gem, Paradox, Fountain, Dover, Homebase, Phenom, Harver, Comeet, Avature. "Dover" can still match the city; no such match was seen in the hand check.
- Recruiterflow and JobAdder are not in the dictionary and appeared in agency answers; they are described in prose only.

## Hand check

Five answers drawn with a fixed seed (20261003): q001, q004, q019, q044, q079. 24 coded mentions; a reader agreed with 20. All four disagreements are in q004 "best applicant tracking system for startups":
- Greenhouse, Lever and Breezy HR are coded listed. A reader codes them recommended: they are conditional picks ("**100+ employees / dedicated recruiting team:** Compare **Ashby, Greenhouse, and Lever**"; "**1-20 employees:** **Workable** or Breezy HR"), and the v1.5 rule stops at the bold markup between names.
- BambooHR is coded recommended. It appears only in "whether you're already using an HRIS like Gusto/Rippling/BambooHR", on a line that also contains the cue "narrow this to". A reader codes it passing.
