HIGH SALIENCE / RESEARCH / AGENCY LANDSCAPE 2026
MARKET INTELLIGENCE · PUBLISHED AUGUST 30, 2026
The AI Search Agency Landscape 2026
18 firms selling generative engine optimization, answer engine optimization and AI SEO, compared not on adjectives but on what each one publicly discloses: specialization, published pricing, proprietary research, documented AI-search results and methodology transparency.
Disclosure
Who wrote this, and the rules it follows.
High Salience is the publisher of this comparison and appears in it. Three rules keep it useful anyway: we do not rank anyone, including ourselves; every cell comes from the agency's own public website, retrieved August 30, 2026; and where we couldn't verify something, the cell says so instead of guessing. Our own row is held to the same standard, including the column where we currently have less to show than several competitors.
01The Comparison
18 firms, five disclosures.
Alphabetical, except that we put ourselves last. "Not published" and "none found" mean we could not find it on the agency's public site on the retrieval date, not that it doesn't exist behind a sales call.

02Findings
What the landscape actually shows.
Pricing is mostly opaque
8 of the 18 rows publish any pricing at all, and several of those figures are general SEO retainers rather than AI-search-specific programs. Where AI-search pricing is disclosed, it spans roughly $3,000/month to $50,000+/month: a 16x spread for services sold under the same acronyms. Buyers comparing "GEO" quotes are frequently not comparing the same product.
The category can't agree on its own name
The same fundamental work is sold across these 18 firms as GEO, AEO, AI SEO, AI search optimization, SAIO, LLM SEO, Relevance Engineering and Information Gain SEO. Naming fragmentation this severe is usually a sign of a category forming faster than its standards, and it's precisely why buyers should read what an agency does rather than what it calls itself.
Original research is the exception
Fewer than half the firms publish any original research, and only a handful (Seer Interactive, Omniscient Digital, Graphite and Momentence among them) publish data studies with stated methods. The rest sell expertise in how AI systems behave without publishing evidence of having measured it. Research is currently the clearest separator in this market.
AI-specific results are rare and often unlabeled
Most published case studies in this category are traditional organic results wearing new terminology. Where AI-search numbers do appear, the metric behind them is often unstated: a percentage without a definition of what was measured, over what query set, against what baseline. Any comparison built on those numbers inherits their ambiguity, which is why this page compares disclosures, not outcomes.
03Our Row
Where High Salience sits, honestly.
We are the youngest firm on this list, and our results column is the emptiest: no client case files yet, and it says so in our row. What we chose to compete on from day one is the rest of the table: published pricing, a public methodology, and a benchmark whose protocol was published before data collection so the findings can't be quietly shaped after the fact. When our case files exist, they'll be documented under the same rules we've applied to everyone else here.
If that trade of less history for more disclosure matches how you buy, the Category Salience Brief is where every engagement starts, and the AI Search engagement is what most of the firms above are selling under their various names.
04Method
How this comparison was compiled.
Every cell was drawn from the named agency's own public website on August 30, 2026, primarily their AI-search, GEO or AEO service pages plus published research pages. The link under each agency's name goes to the primary page we reviewed, so every row can be audited against its source in one click. Nothing was taken from third-party reviews, sales calls or private material. "Not published" and "none found" record the absence of public disclosure on the pages reviewed, not a judgment about the agency's actual capability. Client results shown are the agencies' own claims, reproduced with their framing; we have not independently verified them.
Corrections: if you represent one of these firms and something above is wrong or has changed, contact us through this site and we'll verify and correct it. This page will be revised as the market moves; material changes will be dated.
This is what Search Intelligence looks like.
Mapping who occupies a market, what they disclose and where the gaps are is the same work we do inside client categories, applied here to our own. See it applied to yours.
